Direct Grant Enhancements

In an ongoing effort to assist more associates through the Direct Grant program, The Homer Fund has expanded the list of the Direct Grant's qualifying expenses. The Homer Fund now considers:

1. Payment of medical insurance premiums, removing the burden of the cost of maintaining medical insurance during the associate's medical leave
2. Payment of the essential funeral expenses for a deceased parent or young adult child (up to the age of 26)
3. Assistance with the expenses related to traveling to attend the funeral of a parent, sibling or child (up to a family of four)
4. Assistance with the expenses related to the unanticipated increase in the associate's family size (i.e., unexpected guardianship of grandchildren)
5. Assistance with the cost of major car repairs
6. Assistance with the cost of major home repairs
7. Assistance with basic necessities impacted by specific types of crime
8. Assistance with basic necessities impacted by the loss of court-ordered child support or government subsidies
