Project Day
It’s project day, and everything is going to be great! Make sure you have clear signage ready for volunteers as they arrive, along with the volunteer waiver, tools and materials, and any hospitality items placed in an easily accessible location for all participating associates. It’s also a good idea to have extra t‑shirts on hand, just in case they’re needed.
Sign-In
Use the new Deed VMS system to sign-in on project day and track your hours for all your Team Depot participation. As Captain, you can also access the even on project day to check in all attendees. For more details, click here (link to VMS Resources page).
Safety Brief
- Assign a safety captain for the project who is familiar with all aspects of the scope of work, and conduct a safety orientation with volunteers
- Add safety and protective equipment to your store quote (gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs etc.)
- Clearly identify what you will or will not work on to volunteers and nonprofit partners
PR/Media
Access best practices using the THDF Brand Guidelines. Here are a few important things to keep in mind when taking photos on project day:
- Take all photos and videos horizontally (landscape)
