Your role as Captain is vital in encouraging associates to donate, increase their current donation, engage and advocate throughout the campaign and understand the support available to them through The Homer Fund year-round. In addition to donating to The Homer Fund, associates can show their Orange Hearts by engaging with us on Viva Engage, X and internal channels and checking out the Orange at Heart merchandise available at THDGear.com.

The Homer Fund Campaign [February 23, 2026 - March 27, 2026]

Campaign Participation Requirements Captains must complete 5 of the following activities during the campaign:
- Sign up 5 new donors
- Encourage 5 associates to increase payroll withdrawal by $1
- Host a fundraising event and share a photo with #OrangeAtHeart
- Purchase campaign swag and share a picture with #OrangeAtHeart
- Set up a Homer Fund display and share a picture with #OrangeAtHeart
- Host an info session for new associates
- Encourage 10 associates to follow Homer Fund - US on Viva Engage or @HomerFund on X.
- Captains must submit one survey response per location each week via the Captains private community on Viva Engage.
- Survey deadlines: TBD.
Grant Information
- Direct Grants: For emergencies and tragic events (death, disaster, illness, injury, lay-off, major repairs, crime, etc.). Maximum $10,000 per grant.
- Matching Grants: For circumstances not qualifying for Direct Grants. Home Depot associates’ collections matched $2 for every $1, up to demonstrated need. Maximum $5,000 per circumstance. Pre-approval required.
